About

akshopgirl is a blog about living with style – however you define it – in the 49th state.

Welcome! I’m Leslie Boyd, and I’ve been writing about shopping and style in Alaska for more than a decade. I’ll buy just about anything but the excuse that living in the Last Frontier means you shouldn’t have to dress up. In 2006, I started a two-year stint writing a weekly shopping column for the Anchorage Daily News (now Alaska Dispatch News) and maintaining my first Shop Girl blog at adn.com.  In 2013, I spent a year writing about “only in Alaska” style and local shopping options at Alaska Dispatch (prior to it becoming Alaska Dispatch News) on the Shop 907 page.

I live in Anchorage with my husband, Spencer, toddler twin sons, August and Ethan, and French bulldog, Hank.
