Cheers, Wild Things!

Wild Rumpus Cocktail 3

No party, even a blog party, would be complete without something to sip. So we asked local traveling speakeasy, The Sawbuck, to gin up a cocktail each week that fits our Halloween Blog Party theme. Read on and drink up, Wild Things!

Welcome to the delicious Wild Rumpus cocktail – just what all those Wild Things would order when donning their wolf suits and not wanting to go to bed on these dark fall nights.

Start off with a nice floral gin, add the gingery spice of Domaine de Canton (a ginger liqueur) and balance it with fresh squeezed lemon and orange juice, all topped off with two dashes of lavender bitters. Shake it all up, express and rim the coupe glass with a lemon twist – and you have the Wild Rumpus. Deliciously balanced, spicy and full of citrus flavor. This is a perfect cocktail for a rumpus party.

Here are the measurements in the order the drink should be made:

2 dashes Lavender Bitters (Available locally at La Bodega.)
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Orange Juice
1 oz. Domaine de Canton
1 oz. Gin (We recommend a floral gin, such as Tanqueray, Aviation or Botanical.)

Pour into a cocktail shaker and shake it with ice until condensation forms on the outside of the shaker. Strain the contents into a coupe glass, garnish with lemon twist and serve.
